Could you be the next North East New Novelist? In January 2008, Tonto Books launches a project to discover, develop and publish talented new writers from the North East of England. Best-selling North East writers Kitty Fitzgerald (Pigtopia) and Wendy Robertson (Family Ties) will be judging the competition and selecting two new novels for publication.

The two winning writers will enter into a development process with the judges to bring their manuscript to publication, providing an invaluable opportunity. Both novels will be published early in 2009.
Writers of any genre can enter, as long as they are based in the North East and are yet to have a novel published.
