We
are planning our autumn season of storytelling events for autumn 2010.
Last season we sold out in both London and Brighton so it’s a great way
of getting your work heard! Several of our writers have been published
since working with us, and many industry professionals attend our
events.
Please note, this is a not-for-profit event (including
us!)
“Are You Sitting Comfortably?” was established in 2008,and
takes place in the cafe at Toynbee Studios, Aldgate East, London, which
is transformed into a magical space: part fifties tea room, part
deranged children’s party.
Each month has a theme tying it
loosely together; the stories are supported by a slide show, music, set
and costumes appropriate to that month’s theme.
We actively seek
to promote and provide a platform for short stories and writers. There
is a comp for the writer, free cakes, sweets ganes and prizes for all
who attend.
We would like submissions of original short stories
of around 1000 words. (or shorter!)
The stories are read out by
professional actors in an informal, friendly and supportive atmosphere.
We like the writer to be there, so please check the dates before you
submit to make sure you can attend. We will let you know as soon as we
can if your story is selected.

LONDON and the theme you have selected in the subject line.
