To celebrate 40 years of Orbis, and with the next issue being the big 150, Kudos is holding a writing competition.

Poem (maximum 30 lines), which may rhyme (though maybe try something a bit more adventurous than couplets, sonnets or villanelles?), 50 word short, short story or intro to a short story.
All should incorporate the words ‘161’ and ‘Peacock’
Plus, free copy of next issue of magazine if you can tell me which competition listing the word comes from, in the Overseas listings for February, 2009, on this page: www.kudoswritingcompetitions.com/?page_id=1156
Overall Winner: 1st prize is a year’s subs to either Kudos or Orbis, plus publication on website
(and if the results are as good as the second competition, I may well invite submissions for Orbis)
Winner in each category: complimentary copy of current issue of Kudos, plus 1 free copy.
Runners-up: 1 free copy of Kudos.
